Terms of use
Last updated September 23, 2026
These are the plain-language terms for using Sutros.
What Sutros is
Sutros runs read-only checks on public websites and writes up what it finds. It is a helpful starting point, not a guarantee. A clean report does not mean a site is safe, and a finding may occasionally be wrong. Always confirm with your web person before making changes.
Using it responsibly
- Checkups are limited in number per account and per site. Do not try to work around those limits or use Sutros to overload a site.
- Do not use a report to harm the site or its owner. Use it to help.
- Be honest and respectful on the bulletin. Spam, harassment, and misleading offers are removed and accounts that post them are closed.
Your checkups and public posts
Checkups are private to your account and authorized administrators. You can choose to publish a checkup on the community bulletin when you want help. Publishing gives Sutros permission to show the report, its evidence and pictures, and your note publicly. Helper listings and offers publish the contact details you submit. You keep ownership of what you write.
You can remove your community posts and helper listings. Removing a help post makes its report private again. Copies other people have already saved can remain. The privacy page explains which records we keep.
The "Checked by SUTROS" badge
The badge displays the saved checkup's grade and date. When signing is enabled, its verification link checks the report's signature. A signature establishes origin and unchanged content, not safety or factual accuracy. The badge and verification page follow the report's privacy setting.
No warranty
Sutros is provided as is, free of charge, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for decisions made based on a report.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when.
